Story
As part of Mental Health Awareness week I have decided to sign up and Walk 100 miles in June for Mind — in loving memory of my Brother who we lost to this illness four years ago and every step is for someone who feels they’ve run out of options.
July will be a year since I had my second hip replacement. This time last year I found it hard to walk, without joint stiffness and pain, so this does feel like a great way to also celebrate two new hips and the overall wellbeing this allows me to enjoy. Walking really is good for the heart and mind.
Right now, Mind’s phone lines are the busiest they’ve ever been. In the UK 1 in 4 of us will face a mental health problem this year, yet too many still wait in silence. Mind is often their only lifeline — on the phone, in local communities, and fighting for change so no one is left.
Please support my 100 miles in June challenge by donating to my fundraising page 🙏🏻Your donation will ensure that information and support is available for everyone — on Mind's website, the helplines they run and throughout their online community, Side by Side. Thank you 💙
