Story

I have been struggling with serious anxiety and panic for many, many years. And I am not ashamed to admit it, no! Why should I. I wouldn’t apologise for a broken leg or arm or having diabetes. It’s no different! It’s an illness. It leaves  me rendered much of the time housebound and feeling debilitated. The coronavirus  has exacerbated my anxiety ten fold. This new variant which is spreading faster than the first has left me not really wanting to leave the house. What has shocked me more than anything is the amount of people still not wearing masks. Masks, whatever you believe are life savers for both yourself and others. As is washing hands and social distancing. This song is not only about raising money but raising awareness of playing our very little part, thus helping the NHS in return. The NHS are on their knees both mentally and physically.

I enjoy writing  so wanted to put this to good use whilst being cooped up indoors. I wanted to utilise my skills to keep my mind occupied and focussed to try and alleviate my anxiety. It’s taken me months to write but I finally got it finished with the help of some lovely friends.

And, I have to say I’m pretty proud of our work

The song is called  ‘Wear your Mask’ based on ‘Raise your Glass’’ by P!nk.  I spent some time sourcing  some local talent to sing it for me. I befriended the lovely Fiona Pawsey and discovered her daughter of Lizzy Pawsey Music was a  singer/songwriter who collaborates with a local man Frazer Mitchell who runs Jurassic Coast Studios. Together they worked in very difficult circumstances not being able to produce my song in normal conditions in a studio together. They did brilliantly working remotely and I think they’ve done an amazing job of my song and can’t thank all four  of them enough. And to the amazing the amazing  Brandon Ferson for putting music and his very talented filming  to make this work. Check out his work on you tube BF film. All legends .  The song is able to upload on you tube and Facebook. The song is sung beautifully by Lizzie and took many many months through a bad period of anxiety for me to write so please donate anything you can for this amazing charity.

Family Action has launched a fundraising appeal to help families they work with who are struggling with food insecurity and other financial pressures as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. The financial impact of COVID-19 poses an unprecedented challenge for thousands of vulnerable and low income families. Although the Government has stepped in to support many people who have lost their jobs due to their workplace closing it is inevitably the families who were already struggling financially before COVID-19 that will be in an even worse position now. Self-isolation, the closure of schools, loss of low-paid work, the absence of free school meals and worries about existing debt will all just increase these financial pressures and the tension within the family home. Every penny you donate will make a really big difference to the lives of people and families in desperate

Check out awesome Brandon Ferson film maker for video. Lizzie Pawsey for singing and the brilliant Frazer Mitchell Jurassic Recordings. And not forgetting  the lovely Fiona Pawsey. Love you all ❤️
