Macmillan Cancer Support

We give you the support you need to live life as fully as you can

Charity Registration No. 261017

I am running London Marathon in memory of my late Grandma who was a fantastic woman, my inspiration and who always had a great belief in me, devastatingly, due to cancer she lost her fight for life.

Due to the caring nature of the Macmillan nurses who did a fantastic job in being there for her I would appreciate any donations that people are able to make in order for Macmillan to carry on helping other people as they did with my Grandma.

They touched my heart and life as I am sure they have done with many others so please give what you can to help Macmillan.

Macmillan Cancer Support aims to help people from the moment they first hear they have cancer and to ensure they get the best information, treatment and care. Macmillan works to improve the lives of people living with cancer, and their families, by providing specialist nurses and doctors, buildings for cancer treatment and care and financial grants for patients in financial difficulties.

£100 could pay for a Macmillan Grant that buys fresh bedding for a person with cancer, who is dealing with nausea, night sweats or incontinence because of their treatment.

£100 could keep 50 typical Macmillan information and support centres stocked with all the information resources they need to support people affected by cancer for an hour. These resources would include booklets, guides, directories and leaflets.

£100 could pay for four people to receive quality information and support through one of our Mobile Macmillan Cancer Information Centres.

Every £100 we spend on a face-to-face benefits adviser helps people affected by cancer claim £1,400 in benefits they are entitled to.

Every £100 we spend on our phone service could lead to our cancer support specialists helping people affected by cancer claim £3,322 in benefits they are entitled to.

£10 could pay for 20 copies of The cancer guide . This Macmillan booklet can help somebody recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, to understand cancer, its treatment and the help available

£24 could pay for a Macmillan physiotherapist for an hour

£68 could run a typical small Macmillan Information and Support Centre for an hour

£156 could run our Cancerline for an hour providing, on average, 13 people affected by cancer with essential information and support.  In peak hours the Cancerline receives, on average, 76 calls per hour.

£918 could fund a Macmillan Nurse for a working week.
