I am raising money for Marie Curie and have set myself the challenge of trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp in August/September 2022. I want to do something that will push myself to make a positive change whilst experiencing new challenges within the trek. I have set my target to £2600 and hope to fundraise as much as possible and help those supported by Marie Curie. 

Marie Curie helps those dealing with a terminal illness and offers support in many areas, such as nursing, hospice care and family support whilst also being the biggest UK charitable funder of palliative and end of life care research. 

I have decided to do this challenge as I was introduced to it at the start of my final year at University and I wanted to do something that would have a positive impact whilst pushing myself. To do this, I am planning to fundraise in a few different ways. In particular, I will be running the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon on the 20th of March as well as selling handmade items in the coming months. As part of my training, I will also be running the Vitality London 10k on the 2nd of May.

"By donating to Marie Curie, you are funding care and support for people living with a terminal illness, and their families, across the UK. We believe everyone living with a terminal illness should be able to get the most from the time they have left, however hard that may sometimes feel."

I have chosen to fundraise for Marie Curie as the support they provide has close meaning to myself and my family, in particular for end of life care and those with a terminal illness, as well as family support.
