Story
I left signing up to this charity trek till extremely last minute as I did not think I was physically capable of enduring the walk. But reading about the state of our family in East Africa today morning humbled me to my core and made me wonder what intrinsic selfishness made me ever consider my temporary 'difficulty' as greater than their needs. If Allah presents you with an opportunity to better the lives of the oppressed, you GRASP that opportunity with both hands as it is not you helping them but it is you helping YOURSELF by fulfilling the responsibility that Allah has placed with you. The pain of the ummah is one, and the pain of every single one of the oppressed should be our pain. Every penny we raise together is us donating towards our home in the Akhirah. It is us FREEING ourselves of the responsibility that we have. We are beyond blessed to live in a country free of war and famine, but Allah can change the state of our lives in the blink of an eye, so LETS COME TOGETHER AND SMASH OUR TARGETS AND DONATE AS THOUGH WE ARE DONATING TO OUR VERY OWN SIBLINGS.

"IMed are raising money for the "East Africa Emergency Appeal" throughout our charity week. The people of Somalia, South Sudan, Nigeria and Yemen are suffering from one of the worst droughts in recent times. Food prices are rising, famine is occurring and violence is constantly at hand.
As-Suffa and Muslim Aid are working tirelessly to help the 20 million affected by ending their hunger, quenching their thirst and giving them hope. They're helping to send food parcels, make boreholes and set up mobile clinics to treat those affected by this crisis. 1.4 million children are now severely malnourished and are at serious risk of death and disease."
