Pulling together as a community has never been so important.

Story

We wanted to raise some money for Epilepsy Action as Marcey was diagnosed with epilepsy last October. During the first lockdown she had what we thought were a few absence seizures but they were very sporadic and seemed to disappear through the summer. The seizures returned at the beginning of September though and by October had increased to at least 40 a day. It was a very worrying time but with the help of charities like Epilepsy Action we began to understand Marcey’s diagnosis and treatment.

With such limited face to face support due to Covid-19 charities such as Epilepsy Action gave us the support and advice we needed. We have certainly discovered that there is much more to epilepsy than seizures and there are many different types. Marcey had access to some books and a DVD especially for children which really helped her not feel like she was the only one.

Marcey recently got a new bike and has decided to cycle or scoot at least 1 mile a day starting on 26th March and for the next 30 days to help raise awareness about Epilepsy (mum  and dad will run along too) Any donation is welcome no matter how small as we realise these are tricky times.

Thank you for reading

Love Marcey and family x
