Junko's 3,001 Squats in November for CPAG

Junko Poole is raising money for Child Poverty Action Group

3,001 Squats in November for CPAG · 28 October 2020

We are the trusted voice on child poverty. On average nine children in a classroom of 30 are growing up in poverty. That's 4.5 million children in the UK. Our vision is a society free from child poverty, where all children can enjoy a childhood without financial hardship.

Story

Like you, I believe the government should do more to end poverty for children and adults. Like you, I feel frustrated that I cannot do much to change that situation.

I think we all have been doing various things to try to help fellow human beings since the coronavirus pandemic started. This challenge is just my way of trying to help.

I will do 3,001 squats in the month of November 2020 and I would love it if you could cheer for me by donating to Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG). CPAG was founded in 1965 and they work on behalf of the more than one in four children in the U.K. growing up in poverty. They work to understand what causes poverty, the impact it has on children's lives, and how it can be prevented and solved for good.

FYI, 3,001 squats in one month are approximately ten times the number of squats I currently do...but I will do them! Loretta (my six-year-old daughter) says she will do them with me but I won't hold her to it...

I took the idea of doing many squats in November from Refuge's "3,000 squats in November" challenge. I added one squat to my challenge and made it 3,001 to thank Refuge for the idea. I support Refuge too so I will donate to them while I do my challenge to raise money for CPAG.
