Jurassic Coast Challenge 2023 · 13 May 2023 to 14 May 2023 ·

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Message from John;

In 2021 I undertook the 100km challenge with my MSFT work colleagues. It was a great 24 hr event that taught me a lot about myself. I was disappointed not to finish in under 24hrs, I knew I would want another crack at it.

For 2023 I've onboarded Tom, Olly and Tom, 3 of my lifelong friends to take on the 100km continuous challenge for Parkinson's UK. Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson's. A brain condition that can turn lives upside down and leave a future of uncertainty.

My mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's a few years ago and I've witnessed the impact it has on someone's life. Parkinson's never gives a person a days rest and continuously reminds them that life will never be the same. I am hopeful this small contribution will, one day, help Parkinson's UK find a cure.

As a team we are aiming to walk continuously for no more than 20hrs to complete the 100km course. Walking 5km per hour doesn't sound like much but I can assure you its not an easy challenge. Hopefully you will be able to sponsor us :-) Every £ we raise will be matched by my company so its double bubble for all.
