Story
For those of you who didn’t know Liam, he was more like a friend of a friend but always there. I didn’t work with him every day like some of the Glyn Hopkin boys but was a right laugh on a night out, stag do, wedding and of course 5 a side. We’d banter over instagram messenger and congratulate each other’s life milestones until messages stopped around August 2022. My wife met him just the once and still claims for him to be one of the funniest guys she ever met. In truth, I think about Liam more than he would have ever known, he was just a fucking cool guy and the fact he’s was taken so cruelly and quickly to testicular cancer 3 years ago still bothers me. Liam’s family and friends have been raising money for the Robin Cancer Trust in since he passed and I figured why not do the same. Having supported the charity loosely in the past with music events I’ve seen the amazing work they do raising awareness of the early signs and symptoms of testicular and ovarian cancer in young people.
With that, I’ll be running my first ever (just a half) marathon next year. It would mean a lot to me for anyone who can to give what they can no matter how small the donation.
My 13 Strava followers will know what a challenge this will be for me 😆
