Story
Thanks for dropping by.
Just Bread was created to offer refugee women in London the opportunity to come together in a safe, supportive and fun environment to learn new skills. We want to help our trainees access employment and begin rebuilding their lives.
You can follow our story at www.justbreadlondon.com. Below you should fine a lovely little video about our work.
The project is a wonderful collaboration between Refugee Council and e5 Bakehouse where we teach the skills involved in creating organic artisan breads. The course runs one day per week and over the first 7 weeks we cover a range of delicious breads. Afterwards we provide ongoing support in the form of work placements and employment support activities. We are always seeking out new opportunities like market stalls and events that bring the women together to sell the bread they have produced.
We are working towards having our own "not for profit" bakery run by refugee women which sells artisan breads inspired by the cultures and countries they come from. That way we can offer employment opportunities to our graduates, earn an income through our bread sales and provide training to more refugee women.
Like what we are doing? Well, we will need your help.
1st target - If we raise £2,500 we can run our next course to another 8 refugee women.
2nd target - If we reached £5,000 we can hire pop-up spaces and buy ingredients we need to produce and sell. This will allow us to trial our our business and create our unique range of breads.
Amazing, love you target - £15,000 could allow us to run for a year renting space, hiring a tutor and selling our produce at market so that the following year we can look towards generating a sustainable income from our own bread sales.
Can you help us reach our target? Any bit helps and even if we don't reach our targets any money you do give will be used to train more refugee women in artisan bread baking.
Thank you, Andrew
