Story
Ashton Ladies Hiking Club was formed in May 2021 after the huge success of Ashton Hiking Club (formed 12 months earlier).
The ladies have taken part in a number of hikes to build strength, endurance and tenacity and we now face our first challenge; climbing Scafell Pike on 9th October 2021.
The ladies taking on this challenge are:
Mobien, Shazida, Marium, Amina, Saima M, Saima N, Shameen, Rizwana, Fozia, Nabeela, Samina, Rosina, Robina, Amani, Asia, Yusra, Farah, Yasmin, Samina, Shaheen and Aunty Azra.
We know it will be tough. Many of us are worried about the climb as it is our highest climb to date and it’s cold out there at the minute
However, this is our chance to make a real difference.
We have teamed up with Human Appeal Charity in the hope we can raise enough money (In Sha Allah) to build a school in Tharparkar, Pakistan. Ashton Hiking Club have done so well in raising funds but we want to also contribute to this worthwhile cause.
We may be a little late to the party but we are here!
Tharparkar is one of the poorest districts in one of the poorest regions of Pakistan. Human Appeal currently have projects working on Solar Water Wells in this area and we aim to compliment this by helping to improve educational facilities. We truly believe education is the key to help a community to get out of poverty and become self sufficient.
Your donation will help to provide an education for many generations and in doing so, help improve the lives of individuals as well as the whole community.
