Story
About a year and a half ago I started running to get healthy. A marathon was out of the question. Then I found that I was getting quicker and healthier. I would spend hours running around North London in the wind and rain enjoying every moment. Sometimes I ran in the sun, but wind and rain is way more fun.
Then I got confident enough to run a 5k, then a 10k, then a half marathon and now, lo and behold, a full marathon. Yeah, I'm as surprised as you.
Which brings me to this page.
I now find myself in the incredibly fortunate position to run for UNICEF in the London Marathon. This means I get the chance to raise some much-needed money for children all over the world that haven't had anywhere near as much luck as you and me.
From Syria to Myanmar to Eastern Africa, UNICEF provides education, clean water, vaccines, and protection from violence. These are some ways that your hard-earned cash can help these kids out...
Just £5 is enough for a snug blanket to keep a baby warm in a hospital, day-care centre or refugee camp.
£10 will buy exercise books, pens, pencils, textbooks and other school things to support the education of a child for a whole year.
£20 means that seven families can buy mosquito nets to protect them from deadly malaria.
£106 will buy a sturdy bike for a child to travel to school so that they don’t miss out on their education.
Let's give them a hand.
