Story
I know it was only last year when we last asked for sponsorship for this cause but, since then, Toby has had further life-saving surgery to treat his extremely rare hereditary condition.
In November, he underwent a seven-hour operation to remove four polyps from his bowel of up to 4.5cms each. Surgeons assembled from around the world to perform this highly complex procedure. They only told us afterwards how close his bowel had been to rupturing and that they had brought it forward by two months to potentially - or likely - save his life.....again.
Toby has been under the dedicated care of the same team of the world-leading bowel unit at St Mark's Hospital in Harrow since he was diagnosed with Puetz-Jeghers Syndrome aged six. His surgeons and their support staff couldn't do more for Toby and the family if he was their own kin.
So, we are going to drag ourselves around the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 14 (with, quite frankly, too little preparation) to thank them, in a very small way, for everything they continue to do for Toby.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
