At the end of July / early August this year, I am planning to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania as part of a personal challenge. I would like to use the opportunity to raise some funds for Brig-y-Don, a local charity which aims to help improve the lives of children and young people in residential care in Jersey.

Africa has always been a special place for me personally and professionally. In addition to family holidays, I have undertaken numerous business trips to South Africa and East Africa during my 26 years in the offshore trust industry.

I will be taking the Machame Route up Mt Kilimanjaro and I hope to complete the 62km trek in 7 days.  I hope that I will be fortunate enough to achieve my goal as, standing on the top of the Mountain at 19,341 feet looking out across Africa, will undoubtedly be something I will remember for the rest of my life.
