Story

The current total includes the £500 "raised offline" which was donated by our employers G4S and the £50 "raised offline" donated by Unison. The cheques from these great Company's have been sent directly to the charity.

As Christmas approaches and the temperatures begin to drop, consider this - It is estimated that one quarter of the UKs homeless population are British Armed Forces Veterans.

Having served in the British Army, Steve McCowliff (ex 2RRF) and Chris Huxley (ex Cheshires), Security Managers working in Kabul, Afghanistan would like to generate widespread awareness, to highlight the suffering of homeless veterans across the UK.

On the 05th of December 2014, Steve and Chris will complete their challenges in Kabul:

Steve will run a marathon, row a marathon and cycle a marathon within 12 hours.

Unable to run marathon distance due to injuries sustained in an IED blast in Iraq, this will not stop Chris competing. Chris will row 100km in 12 hours.

We decided on such a difficult endurance challenge in acknowledgement of the physical and mental pain suffered by our homeless veterans. Homeless veterans endure months/years of suffering in horrific conditions - Haven't they suffered enough fighting for our freedom?

They fought for our country once, now its time we fight for them.

Please donate/sponsor us. Every little helps, this will be the greatest gift you can give this year.

You can also text donate from the UK. To do this text ECDU50 followed by £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070

Thanks in advance,

Steve and Chris.
