Teesside Hospice offer palliative care for people over the age of 18 with a life-limiting illness when a cure is no longer possible. This care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and reaches thousands of local people. As well as this they also offer bereavement counselling and 'Forget-Me-Not' children's bereavement counselling to help them come to terms with the loss of someone in their lives. It costs £3.1 million a year to provide their care services, with £6,700 needing to be raised each and every day of the year to keep the services running.
