Story
Kadzinuni, a village in Kenya, is desperately short of fresh water due to the east African drought. Rains have failed regularly for the last 3 years. Through our charity, The Friends of Kadzinuni we are working to find a long term sustainable solution to this problem with which our partners in Mombasa are helping. However recent events mean that we have to do something now to ensure that Kendrick's Clinic at Kadzinuni can continue to provde the healthcare services for about 2,000 local people each month.
We are arranging to supply fresh water by tanker, driven up from Mombasa. 10,000 litres costs about £70 ($110US), that is just £55 donated via Gift Aid. So just £10 buys approx 1,800 litres. Fresh water saves lives. By Christmas Eve we want to raise £2,000 to buy one tanker load per week between now and April 2010 when the long rains are due and we will visit Kadzinuni again to progress the permanent solution.
If you would like to make your donation on behalf of a friend (perhaps as birthday or Christmas gift) please also send us an email to friends@kadzinuniu.org.uk and we'll prepare and send a Gift card to you to forward to your friend.
Also, remember to check our website for regular news from Kadzinuni.
