For Team Mama Kinch and everyone affected by Alzheimer's

Trek26 Brecon Beacons 2019 – 26 miles · 14 September 2019 ·
My friend's lovely mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 18 months ago. I've experienced how Alzheimer’s has affected precious people in my own family, and it's been heartbreaking seeing Rachel and her family cope with this hideously cruel disease. And yet, even with both my nans, Kathleen and Annie-May, having suffered so badly with dementia at the end of their lives, I still can't imagine the anguish and pain that my friend's beautiful mum is experiencing.
I've never done anything like this 26 mile hike before, but I'm extremely proud to be part of Team Mama Kinch - along with with a group of friends and heroes who are coming together to honour Mama Kinch and to fight Alzheimer’s.
By the time people are Rachel's mum's age (she will be 81 in September) 1 in 6 people have dementia. Every three minutes someone develops dementia.
Every step of this 26 mile trek is for Mama Kinch and everyone who has been affected by Alzheimer's and dementia. I would be so grateful if you can help me to get there by donating a few pounds to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
