Story

So, I was juggling a PhD, two jobs and special needs parenting when the pandemic hit the world. My partner is a key worker doing long hours which means that by the time he got home from work I was ready to run out of the door! Little by little the late evening runs became less about releasing anxiety, and more about enjoyment.

I will be walking/running Cardiff Half Marathon for Cardiff University research, specifically their invaluable neuroscience and mental health research. I have close family members affected by Alzheimer’s, autism, ADHD and mental health issues so research of these topics is very close to my heart.

I will be completing the race in icy Helsinki on the 27th, probably wearing my shoes with spikes—necessary to avoid breaking any hips!

Please find the time to sponsor me—no amount is too little. I attempt to raise as much money as possible to support this research, which will be much needed in the coming years and months, especially in the UK.
