On Tuesday 29th Dec I will be doing a swim challenge in my local pool, attempting 20km! It had been my little tradition to do a 20km swim during the Christmas break but this year I missed so many months of training because of the various lockdowns…. It was looking unlikely that I could do it, but somehow foolishly I’m still so tempted to give it a go! 🤩 I can be an all or nothing person and think it’s not worth it if it’s out of reach, but then it would be even worse not to try at all and give up completely. Worst case scenario is I won’t reach the full distance but can see just how far I can get until I drop 😁 So tomorrow I am heading to the pool to give it a go and will report back afterwards! If anything, it will be “fun” to see how far I can get on such limited training, I can do the experiment so you don’t have to 😁 🤣
I am raising money for this lovely animal charity, if you would like to make a donation it will give me a big boost tomorrow during the swim! I am planning a drink break every 1km and will try to check my phone at some point. In a weird way I am quite looking forward to it!!!!

And then, whatever happens, a day rest and on New Year’s Eve I had already committed to running the 26 miles of the Liverbird marathon, so that will be fun too! As the official event can’t take place this year, it gives us the organisers a chance to do some running! Chris will be joining me for that one too 🏃🏃 Thanks so much to everyone who has already sponsored us for that run! Goodheart Animal Sanctuaries provide forever homes to farm animals and everything raised on this page will go towards their emergency appeal to help care for the animals this winter 😍😍😍
