Story

Hi all thanks for reading this i would just like to give you a little information on who i am and what I'm going to be doing. My name is Kami/Kam and i am an occupational therapist currently working at Royal Blackburn hospital, i have worked on the critical care unit for around 9 months helping patients who have been critically ill, helping with their rehab both mentally and physically. When i first started this role i had very low motivation and after covid my weight had gone up to nearly 22 stone, after working with and seeing people fighting for their lives i decided that i needed to make change for myself so i set a goal of completing Mount Everest base camp. At the start of my goal my weight and fitness was shocking going up a flight of stairs would leave me breathless, slowly i started to eat healthier, started walking and joined the gym and i have lost 7 stone in total, In the past 9 months i have reached the sumit of Ben Nevis, Scaffell and Snowdon the 3 highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. I have also completed the Yorkshire 3 peaks which is roughly 25 mile walk in the Yorkshire dales all in preparation for Everest Base camp on 19th October  which is 14 day hike 10days up and 4 days back down.

I would like to raise around £3500 for a specialist seating matters chair that can be used on the critical care unit for patients who need specialist support to get out of bed and sit out safely and help lower the risk of them getting weaker and increase their chances of recovery.

Thanks again for reading and hopefully donating this will help the patients on the ward and give me even more motivation to make it basecamp.
