Friends of Saltersgate School (FOSS) is the designated charity for the families of Saltersgate School. Saltersgate is Midlothian’s school for pupils with complex additional support needs. FOSS maintains a caravan in Berwick to provide the families of Saltersgate much needed respite holidays. FOSS also provides a programme of Days Out Vouchers for families to access day trips during the summer. FOSS provides funding for specialist equipment and programmes delivered for pupils at Saltersgate School.

Story

24 employees of Kames Capital will be participating in the 2019 Rob Roy Challenge to support the outstanding work carried out by the Friends of Saltersgate School.

Saltersgate School is an additional support needs school in Midlothian, Scotland that caters for pupils from 4-18 years who have a range of physical and learning disabilities. The complex needs of the pupils include Autism, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Epilepsy, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Learning Disability, Chromosomal Abnormality and Cerebral Palsy.

Now in its 13th year, the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge is one of Scotland's most successful fundraising events, raising over £3m for a range of good causes. Kames Capital has participants taking part in a range of challenges, including a 14-mile hike, 56-mile cycle and 70-mile hike and cycle.
