Nystagmus means involuntary movements of the eye. It impairs vision, affecting focus and depth perception. At least 1 in 1,000 babies are born with nystagmus. There is currently no cure. The Nystagmus Network is a UK registered charity which provides support, raises awareness and funds research.

Story

Our daughter was born with an incurable eye condition called Nystagmus. There is a huge spectrum with people who go through life mostly unaffected by the condition to people who are completely blind with it. We are lucky that our daughter is mostly unaffected by it but after yearly trips and check ups at Moorfields Eye Hospital we see children who are not so lucky. There is little known about Nystsgmus and why people are born with it so I’m running the Bristol half marathon to raise money for the research into the condition.
