Simplyhealth Great South Run 2018 · 21 October 2018 ·

Thousands of young people around the world have been rescued from vulnerable situations. But too often these young people - in spite of years incredible investment and support - end up back in poverty, and the cycle continues. It shouldn’t be like this, and we are passionate to change this pattern.

Story

So this year I decided to set myself a goal of doing the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth which is taking place on the 21st October. In 2016 during travelling Reb and I were fortunate to visit the amazing city of Kolkata. During our stay we saw alot of poverty and many things that made us appreciate how lucky we are at home to have the systems, services and opportunities. We were very moved by the incredible projects we visited that has and is changing the cycle of poverty to give people opportunities to improve their circumstances but also their families. One of the Charities that is doing is is Pursuit International (https://pursuitinternational.org) who are a small charity that has an amazing project called RAMP which is doing an amazing work in giving young people the opportunity to learn key life skills so they can learn how to become independent after years in education and in children's homes!
Their work has really moved me and I have decided that I am going to run the 10 miles to raise money so that they can continue their amazing work and grow to help more people best the circle of Poverty!
I will also do the traditional form of sponsor form (for anyone in Worthing or not a fan of internet giving) any sponsor is appreciated and just kind words will help me get Round!
