Story

Hello and thank you for checking out my fundraising page.

You probably are already aware that I have set out to do a gruelling hike to Machu Pichu in a bid to raise at least £1,500 for Unicef this coming October. It will be a tough and extremely challenging trek, going up to 7.000 ft above the sea level, with high altitudes kicking in and arduous terrains claiming the legs.

Going on this trek I am looking to raise awareness and fundraise money for Unicef, who will then ensure that the funds go to those children most in need.

This challenge is a representation of everything that many children all around the world have to endure due to the lack of the basic necessities and legal support. I am a strong believer that all humans are equal and we all deserve equal opportunities in our lives. Unfortunately, a lot of children in Bangladeshi, Malawi, Bolivia and Mauritania don't have these basic rights available.

In Bangladesh, almost one million children aged between 10 –14 are forced to work to support their families. My fundraising with Unicef on behalf of Kantar Group aims to provide shelter and support to 4,500 children, living in hazardous conditions, enabling them to go to school instead of work.

In Bolivia, violence against children and adolescents is a phenomenon of considerable magnitude. Across 83% of all homes, there are a reported 2.2 million young victims. Kantar’s support protects children against exploitation by improving their legislative rights and creating special support units for victims.
