In 2013, I was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition Wegener's Granulomatosis, also known as Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) when I was just 16 years old. I was very overwhelmed with all the scary statistics and information on google...however Vasculitis UK helped me understand more through their website and their charity continues to be a source of support for patients and their loved ones. 

I've been in remission now for 6 years and can generally manage well day to day thanks to the life saving treatment I received in those early years. One of the main reasons I chose the charity 'Vasculitis UK' is because they fund research into Addenbrookes Hospital, where I was and still am looked after by a team of specialists. 

I've always wanted to do a Skydive and now it's coming up to the 10 year anniversary of my diagnosis in February/March 2023 so it just felt right. I mentioned the skydive to my mum who is absolutely terrified of heights, she literally cries in cable cars and when she has to drive over a bridge...I jokingly asked her to do it with me and she said YES! Having her support means the world.
