Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Here at Bupa Dental Care South Queensferry, the Team are partaking
in a 14 mile walk  beginning at Linlithgow
Loch and passing through Bo’ness and Blackness then on towards South
Queensferry along the River Forth on Saturday 14th September 2019.

We are walking to fundraise for The UK Sepsis Trust in
memory of my beautiful niece Harper Aitken, age 3, who was suddenly taken from
us in March this year due to sepsis.

Our aim is to raise awareness of this heart-breaking disease
and highlight the early signs to hopefully prevent another family going through
what did.
