<p>In 2010 I volunteered as a marshall for the inaugural Brighton Marathon. In the build up to the big day the whole city seemed to be out running. On the day the atmosphere was amazing and I was so excited to be a part of it but I was also completely in awe of the runners. So I made the decision that in 2011 I was going to be one of those runners. Having never run before it has been a long slow progress since my first training day back in August.</p>
<p>I have chosen to raise money for Emmaus. They help people move on from homelessness. It really is a very special place where the companions live and work in a supportive environment. I started working for Emmaus in December as their Finance Manager so I know that every single penny raised will be used for the benefit of the companions and their community. I am very proud to be representing them and hope I don't let them down. Please help me to help them.</p>
