London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

When an adult or child has been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, Havens Hospices can provide the care they need, ‘Making every day count’. Our specialist Care Teams can support them in the comfort of their own home and through our hospices, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Story

I live half a mile from Havens Hospice who care for terminally poorly children and 3 miles from the new Havens Hospice in Southend, who care for adults at the end of their lives. Having run many events in the past for Havens, including the recent Southend Half Marathon, I have been successful and will be proud to run for them in my bucket list challenge, "The London Marathon" 2021 (VLM)

They recently provided end of life care for a friend that had terminal cancer, taking her in and looking after her and her family making them comfortable and at ease in Julie's final days.

I am running the London Marathon to raise money for the charity so they can continue to look after many thousands of people that are at the end of their lives. Providing support, compassion and ease in the most difficult of times someone ever has to go through.

Thank you in advance for any donations, I do hate asking for money but this charity is an excellent cause and I want to do them proud.

In memory of Julie Necker, who was a character! and a beautiful lady inside and out.
