We provide specialist care to children with life-limiting illness

Story

The Northern Ireland Children's Hospice The only service of its kind in NI, Children's Hospice cares for over 370 babies, children and young people each year at our dedicated Children's in-patient unit - Horizon House and in our local communities through our Specialist Community Nursing Team. Our work also extends to families, supporting them from the point of diagnosis right through to the grieving period after bereavement. We receive a small amount of government funding, so we rely on the generosity of our local community to help us to continue to deliver our vital service.

"When you read the above you will see that this wonderful charity (like so many others) needs financial help to continue their much-needed work in these uncertain times.  I have wanted to shave my hair off for a charity for a while and after discussing with my family and colleagues it was agreed that the task would finally be set and the money would be collected!  Fundraising buckets are already gathering huge amounts of money at SPAR King's Crescent but for friends, etc. who cannot visit the store I invite you to hit the link here and drop a wee virtual donation (no matter how small).  All donations are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use at the Hospice.   My Store Manager Kerri has agreed to be a barber for the day and shave off my hair on Friday 28th August (time TBA).  We hope this will take place outside the shop (weather and social distancing permitting!) but will also film it so you can all watch my greyness come through!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my family, work colleagues, customers, friends, Henderson's and everyone who has helped arrange this and of course, donated to this very worthy cause.  Lets keep giving and raising money for this wonderful charity and show the world how generous the people of Northern Ireland are!"
