Story
So, anyone that knows me well, will know that my legs would wobble looking over the first floor balcony on the Aylesbury Estate! Heights are definitely not my thing..
However, I like to be challenged and go out of my comfort zone more so now than ever before, thanks to my daughter who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer nearly 4 years ago. She's incredibly daring and done some crazy things to fundraise so it's my turn.
My daughter has life long cancer treatment every three weeks and has always been keen on keeping fit. We both have the fitness bug. My daughter has great belief as do I that her fitness regime helps greatly with keeping her strong during treatment and also helps with her mental health.
When you get these life changing diagnosis very little is spoken about as to how to keep yourself fit and well with exercise. My daughter felt the importance of fitness and looking after your body was not given the credence it should have been and hence .. The fitness Support Network was created.
The charity provides newly diagnosed cancer patients with a 12 month membership to a gym or sports club. Thus providing a newly diagnosed person with a place to enjoy exercises, maybe doing something new or something that they may no longer be able to afford for one reason or another..
The science is has caught up with the importance of keeping fit and looking after your well-being.
The charity is getting busier and there are more applications than ever, we do not want to turn one person away due to lack of funds and that is where you guys come in...
Please if you can spare a few pounds, you will be helping provide those gym and sports club memberships.
It'll be worth it just to see me dangling from 260ft!
I promise...🙂
