Alba is going to undertake the "wee wander" of the Edinburgh kilt walk which is 5 miles long with two of her friends aged 5 and 6 years old.

She has chosen Shelter Scotland as her charity.

Alba asked me about some of the people she saw in Edinburgh who were rough sleeping whilst we were visitng the city one day. She thought very deeply about the experience of having nowhere safe to live and wanted to do something meaningful to help.

We thought about the best way she could go about raising money and agreed upon a sponsored walk.

Alba has also directly helped ndividuals affected by homelessness - she prepared and donated many of her own clothes and toys to a family she became aware of who were homeless and had few belongings - particularly for their children. 

When I asked her which charity she would like to donate her money to if she was able to raise sponsors for the kilt walk she did not hesitate in suggesting a charity that helped with homelessness.
