Had a fantastic fundraising event , we raised over the £1,000 so really happy then on the evening my dear friend had her 50 th birthday she held a raffle and raised £100

when your child is born fit and healthy you never think for one moment of the problems you could face later on in life .my daughter was 6 years old when diagnosed with lymphoma hodgkins at qmc nottingham .the treatment shania recieved was outstanding she spent time on ward e38 .dr hewit is one fantastic doctor. waiting for the diagnosis report was was a nightmare but in all fairness dr hewit did everything in his powers to avoid our waiting time.when the results did arrive he sat us down and talked us through the plan ,we are very lucky, shanias hodgkins lymphoma was found at a early stage, and this is thanks to shania.one morning she came into our bedroom and said mummy whats this ;pointing to her neck, shania had really long hair missed it ,.at 1st the doctors put it down to the sore throat and cold bugs she kept having,my concern was the heavy snoring at night and kept pointing out that she needs her tonsils and adanoys removing, shanias lump was on the side of her neck the size of a golf ball by the time her treatment started .she could not have it removed as it was tangled around her nerves to the shoulder and neck so a plan of intense chemo started .when you step onto this ward for the 1st time its absolutly heartbreaking its like living in a different world ,taking life for granted suddenly goes out of the window .the poorly children spending years on this ward are a true inspiration to us all,ive met children that are so poorly that there is no light at the end of the tunnel for them i can not begin to imagine how there parents cope but only by taking one day at a time, the childs live and the parents lifes are that of a hopital bed and a camp bed my heart is broken with thoughts.shanias in remission now and doing really well ,she will have regular checks untill she is 18 years ,not knowing one day if she will ever have a child of her own ,but having my child is more important than anything .the donations i make to ward e38 will help by providing the children with new toys ,a visit from the clown doctors and helping towards the refurbishment of the ward ,and making the parents life more easy please please help to make your donation every penny helps just £5 would put a smile on a childs face with a visit from the clown doctors ,im also planning to give the children gifts for xmas 2012 so please help x
