As most of our family/friends know, I (Karén) was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer in December 2018, and had to have surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment this year and continue on medication now. York Against Cancer really were amazing, particularly during radiotherapy which was daily in Leeds for 4 weeks, providing a bus for patients from York to Leeds every day complete with the loveliest drivers. They also provided use of their apartment in Whitby for a weekend after my radiotherapy had finished for just a small voluntary donation, which meant me, Alexa and the rest of our family had something nice to look forward to. It really did mean the world to us.  

Alexa has signed up for Race At Your Own Pace, for their October challenge, and she will be aiming for both their 25 mile cycling medal and also their 30 mile walking medal, to raise money for York Against Cancer.
