Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

KRCWDG is a charity registered in Scotland by the Houston family to raise funds in support of Karen and other ethnic minority refugees in Burma and in refugee camps along the Thai border. The Karen suffer persecution and genocide by the Burmese military dictatorship, in a situation which worsens every year in the absence of any international intervention or any media and political focus.

Our daughte/ sister/ niece/ cousin - Lisa Houston - helps to run the Mae Tao clinic on the Burma/Thai border. The Clinic provides medical and other support to the refugee community - treatment of malaria and endemic disease, surgery for wounds and particularly landmine victims, aswellas educational, orphanage and other social support.

Lisa has lived among the Karen for 15 years, she is married to a Karen man and they have 2 Karen/Scots children.

The attached video shows Lisa explaining the work of the Clinic to ex- Startrek actor Walter Koenig !

All monies raised by us go directly and entirely to point of use - no costs or expenses either here or there.
