Story

IT ONLY TAKES A SECOND TO TAKE A SELFIE AND JOIN IN...

On April the 25th we will be once again hosting Pants on Head Day in order to raise money for Rowcroft. This has been an event growing in momentum with last year being particularly poignant.

Pants on Head Day originated from a silly family tradition. For as long as I can remember Mum and I had what we refer to as "pants on head" days!

For us a "pants on head" day is one of those days where you start off with the determined intent to spring clean, gut a wardrobe, clean out a crammed cupboard etc. only having pulled everything out of said place you then realise the enormity of the task ahead and are filled with shear dread!

Why pants on head? Well...don't ask me how but quite often a random pair of knickers often emerge from the debris and end up pulled on top of our head as some form of protective task armour!

Over the years Mum and I often inadvertently interrupted each other mid "pants on head" and we take comfort in knowing that we are both together in the nightmarish task of the big clean up!

Whilst I'm sure we'd all rather we had been together in the task of clearing out a hellish cupboard or two last year we unfortunately found ourselves together in another hellish situation.... Mum was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer.

However to keep our spirits up, retain our fun and positive vibe we asked you our wonderful family and friends to wear your pants on your head as a symbol of solitude!

On the 23rd of April 2017 Mum passed away peacefully at Rowcroft Hospice. She knew we were planning to host another Pants on Head Day to raise money for the hospice and two days after she died we went ahead with our fundraiser raising over £2000.

The wonderful staff at the hospice participated and we even made the local press. This year we are VERY keen to give this fundraiser even more PR. Whether through social media, contacting local businesses etc we plan to smash last years total! We would so appreciate your support and your backing once again.

Thank you for all your good humour and support with this one!

Love

Karen and the rest of the family xx
