Mae Murray Foundation is a charity based in Northern Ireland, working to create a society where disabled people of all ages and abilities can participate fully and feel a true sense of belonging. Too often, disabled individuals and families are excluded from everyday life due to physical, social, and attitudinal barriers. This leads to isolation, poor mental health, and a lack of opportunity. We believe no one should be left behind. We work with disabled people to co-create inclusive activities, events and programmes — from beach days and all-ability clubs to online workshops and systemic advocacy. Everything we do is shaped by lived experience. We’re building a world where disabled people and families feel seen, supported and celebrated — but inclusion doesn’t happen by accident. It takes challenge, collaboration and real change. By supporting us, you're helping break down barriers and create lasting impact. Together, we can create a society where everyone can belong, participate, and thrive.

Story

Hi thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page. My name is Finlay and I am 10 years old I have quadriplegic cerebral palsy but that doesn't stop me having a life full of adventure. I have constant pain due to my extremely tight muscle tone and every day it feels like I have to climb mountains to overcome this. SO now I am going to actually climb a mountain!!!! I will be in a sling and carried by my mum and friends on their backs.  I am raising funds for the Mae Murray Foundation as this charity has allowed me to have some amazing fun times like surfing on a sit down board and be on a beach for the first time because they introduced the first inclusive beach in Northern Ireland. They have also allowed me my first experience of independent moving by having a bugzi which is a powered chair for younger children which I love to use to crash into things around the garden! I have also met so many friends through them and have so much fun at their numerous events. They really are creating change together.

Please help me raise much needed funds for Mae Murray Foundation and ensure inclusivity for many families like mine in Northern Ireland.
