Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read my Just Giving page for the Macmillan Rob Roy Might Hike that I will be undertaking on 28th August 2021. (Delayed from 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions). This challenge is to walk a marathon along the route of the Rob Roy Way from Callander to Killin; I have no doubt it will be difficult - but compared to what those fighting cancer and what people helping those fighting cancer go through each day, it should be a walk in the park......well in this case - a walk along the Rob Roy Way!

You may be asking why I am doing this, well my story is no different to an increasing amount of other people in the world today, it doesn't matter if they are family, friends, neighbours or strangers you happen to speak to when you are out simply walking the dog. We have all been touched by cancer in some way; be it a survivor, someone recovering or tragically through a loss, either way it affects us all.

I am undertaking this challenge as unfortunately I suffered the tragic loss of someone and I am doing this in memory of her, her name was Alison, and to those who do not know who she was, she was my mum, wife to dad, mother to my 3 sisters and grandmother to 4 grandkids. Being able to walk and remember her through these 26 miles in August on the Rob Roy Way is even more poignant as it would have been her birthday on 29th August.  She was the strongest lady I've known; I am proud to be her daughter and, I miss her every day.

I would like to thank everyone so far that has supported me and to all of those that hopefully will support my fundraising for this worthy cause.
