Story
Thanks for visiting our page. We are raising money for the British Heart Foundation and we'd be so grateful for your support.
We never knew our grandad John MacCarthy, who died when our dad was 18.
Our uncle Peter is here because of research and awesome medical science following his multiple heart bypass.
Whilst no longer with us, Nicky's father-in-law Trevor also had a bypass when younger.
Friends have also been lost suddenly - Padders, Linda, Keith, Rashiq - proving research and funding is so very important.
Karen has done some challenges in the past - 2 Moonwalks, a Shine (all walking marathons), 20 miles for Maggies, a half for the BHF at Blenheim Palace and numerous halfs and shorter distances for her then local hospice in Aylesbury.
But London always eluded Karen in the ballot...
I (Karen) am very lucky to have been given a place on the BHF Team to run the London Marathon 2023 - and I get to do it with my sister, Nicky, who was lucky in the public ballot (encouraged to apply by me and our PT).
We would love your support for this awesome charity - please help us reach our target for 23 April 2023 and motivate us for this most epic challenge!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target.
Thank you!
