ForCrohns is set up to raise awareness of Crohn's Disease and money for specific research projects. This is acheived through a number of events, most notably, the annual sponsored WalkForCrohns in Hyde Park, London. Events are for people of all ages.

Story

Hello and thank you for taking a bit of time to visit this fundraising page when I know this is the time of year when we all get inundated by requests for giving away our cash!

On Sunday 26 July, myself, my mum and my sister will be taking part in the 10K Walk for Crohns event in Hyde Park. The reason we are doing this is that unfortunately the family has been personally affected by this disease so we decided to do something small to help others out there who are suffering.

I am also doing a 10k run on 4 July - so 20k total! Please dig deep.... ;)

ForCrohns is an organisation set up to raise money and awareness for Crohn's disease. Crohn's disease is one of many bowel disorders, which can strike at any time and have devastating effects upon people of all ages.  Due to the embarrassing nature of Crohn's Disease and the fact that bowel disorders tend not to be discussed in our society, many people suffer in silence and are reluctant to admit to having the disease.

The money raised is split between two charities: The St Mark's Hospital Foundation and  'Crohn's and Colitis in Childhood' (The 3C's).  The money given to Ths St Mark's Hospital Foundation goes to clinical research into Irritable Bowel Disease.  The 3C's does research into finding a cure for Crohn's.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Marks Hospital Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you very much
