£2,700 raised and counting. Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou!
Dear all you lovely people who got behind me for the big race!
Well, it's over. A beautiful morning in the New Forest - I actually enjoyed the lake swim for the first time ever and zoomed off on my bike in great spirits. The weather held up and I completed the bike course in great time - 92 km in 3 hours 28 minutes. The run was cross-country with lots of bridle paths and steep hills. I met the wall with four miles to go but I knew I was almost there and romped in doing 13.4 miles ( they made the course longer!!!) in 2 hours 11 minutes. A total of 6 hours 21 minutes and a big smile on my face as I crossed the finish line with the team - Alan, Jessica, Jamie, Ziggy, Alex, Jo and Nathan cheering me home! I have recovered quickly and am feeling in great spirits. over £2,700 (including the Chancellor's Gift Aid tax) back for those kids in Sierra Leone. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
I have no immediate plans to upgrade to the Iron Man Distance so you and your credit cards can breathe a sigh of relief. Well Done all of you!
Lots of love
Karen
