KSDP provides educational and other practical support to young Karenni refugees living in camps on the Thai/Burma border. Our motto is to 'help the Karenni to help themselves' and we provide education and support facilities to enable them to achieve this objective. Administrative costs are kept to a minimum with virtually 100% of our donations going to the Karenni .

Story

Thank you for visiting our fund raising page. Please dig deep and support the Karenni people of Burma who have been suffering for decades.

Thankfully Karenni State escaped the worst of the cyclone storms but they have had tremendous rains in the wake of the cyclone and many rice fields and other crops are flooded. The price of rice has doubled in recent weeks and many now cannot afford to buy food. In addition there are thousands living as Internally Displaced People in the jungles of Karenni with no shelter from the torrential rains. They need immediate supplies of tarpaulins.

We need to raise money to buy food and tarpaulins for these poor people. Please help us to help them. We guarantee that every penny raised will go quickly and directly to the Karenni people in Burma via KSDP (reg charity 1108288)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support us: Karenni Student Development Programme will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please support the Karenni now.

Many thanks for your support.
