On Sunday 24th July we will be taking part in the European Ironman Triathlon Championships in Frankfurt. For anyone unfamiliar with the format, the race starts with a 2.4mile swim, is followed by a 112mile bike ride and concludes with a marathon run. Our primary aim in doing the race was to maintain our finely toned physiques, but since we've failed so abjectly in this objective our 'Plan B' is to raise a few pounds for a good cause. Most people know or will know someone affected by cancer, so our choice of charity is Force (check out www.forcecancercharity.co.uk)

We know that times are tough so our aims are modest. The total distance we will each cover during the race is just short of 141 miles, so we're aiming to get 141 people to donate a £1.41, giving a total of just short of £200. If we can get more people to sponsor us - great, but please  stick to the maximum donation of £1.41. If you're desperate to make a bigger donation, then please do it in the name of a friend or loved one.
