Story
As many of you know I've been running in various events for various charities over the last few years:
- NSPCC
- Ronald McDonald House
- United Response
and thanks to winning a place in the London Marathon ballot, i'm able to do so again. This time I've opted for a local charity, the Jersey Childrens Charity, who do a fantastic job supporting sick children and their families in Jersey and sponsoring various community projects. Their main aims are to:
- Purchase life saving equipment for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) and Children's (Robin) Wards at the General Hospital.
- Assist families with travel costs where there is a need to travel to the UK for their child's treatment.
- Assist families with the treatment of their children where there is a gap in funding provided by the States of Jersey.
- Assist patients referred by Family Nursing Home Care with on-going medical expenses.
- Sponsor a room at Ronald McDonald House in Southampton for any Jersey families that stay throughout the year.
- To provide Parent Packs for Robin Ward to assist parents who find themselves staying unexpectedly on the ward.
As always I really appreciate any donations that you feel able to give, and promise that one day when I feel like there is less chance that i'll just collapse, i'll do it in a funny costume :)
