Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It has been a few years since I ran for charity, every few months I think I must commit to do another one again but could never settle on a charity.

Then a few weeks ago I sat down with my colleague Rachel Grant over lunch and listened to her and her son Laszlo’s story.  After listening to their story I felt moved and compelled to commit to raising money for the charity SENSE based on the fantastic support they provide to children and adults like Laszlo.

The challenge was how to raise money. Then Rachel mentioned that as Laszlo is being used on SENSE’s promotional material for the London marathon 2012 that she wanted to run but unfortunately couldn’t commit to the training required.  Perfect I thought, I will run the marathon on Rachel and Laszlo’s behalf on the condition that they are there to support me on the day. J  A few weeks later here I am!

Please see the quote below from Rachel describing how SENSE makes a real difference to both hers and Laszlo’s lives

“SENSE really make a real difference to my and my son's life.  This year they hosted the amazing CHARGE syndrome conference in March, which was one of the most inspirational events I have ever been to.  I learned so much which helps me to understand how to support Laszlo.  I will never forget Laszlo Bollywood dancing until late in the evening!

Laszlo went on another SENSE holiday this year.  SENSE organise fantastic holidays for people who are Deaf Blind and Multi-sensory impaired.  Laszlo had a brilliant time, horse-riding, swimming, learning new things, meeting new friends.  He gets so much out of the holiday and still talks about it every day”

So, please help me to help SENSE make a real difference to people like Rachel and Laszlo by sponsoring me for the London Marathon 2012
