Having always wanted to volunteer but never getting around to it, I decided 2013 is the year to help make a difference….

Start Small, are dedicated to educating and building a brighter future for children. I will be going to the slum area Nakuru in Kenya to help build a shelter to stop children collapsing in the summer from dehydration or suffering illness from the torrential downpours during rainy season. The shelter will be attached to the school which helps get the children off the streets, gives them a basic education and provides them often with their only meal. I will also help to build a small planting area to grow greens to help feed the children and teach them the important of self-sustainability.
