Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For three years now I’ve been a call-out member of West Cornwall Search & Rescue and there are more people than you might think who go missing for all sorts of reasons.
If you were to get missing for whatever reason, chances are the police would call in the West Cornwall Search & Rescue team to help to find you. Well-trained volunteers would get a call, drop everything in an instant and search for you in all weather day and night.
I’m just trained as a casualty carer in a wide range of First Aid emergencies that may be encountered in my role. Others in the team specialise in water rescue or rope work to be able to rescue somebody from mineshafts or other heights.
All this training and equipment cost money, and with the team not receiving any government funds we depend entirely on donations. So, I’d like to support this important work and have signed up to walk the Fellsman once again.
The Fellsman is a tough 61 miles race through some very testing terrain in the Yorkshire Dales climbing over 11,000 feet (3,400 m). I managed to complete it last year for the first time in 27 hours, but this year I’d like to dedicate my effort to West Cornwall Search & Rescue.
I know money is tight, but if you’re able please consider sponsoring me. Many thanks!!!
