Story
Karyn has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my journey to recovery from alcohol addiction. She has witnessed the support I've received from SRS, and how it has helped me stay sober.
SRS is exactly what I need: it offers support in a group setting, as well as one-to-one sessions.
SRS also organise activities and classes: addiction is an isolating disease, and the option of attending a class full of people who understand what an addict is experiencing, contributes towards lessening this feeling of isolation.
And last but not least, SRS are the reason that Karyn and her brother have a mommy who is coherent enough to write this story: because of them, I'm now three months sober, and striving to be the mommy they deserve to have me be!
Karyn asked me about donating her hair to a charity a while ago, and has recently decided that she would also like to ask people to sponsor her for the actual haircut, in order to raise money for SRS.
She has refused to let me pay for the haircut: she will be paying for it from her own money, and has asked me to donate the cost to this campaign. Never argue with a tween! 😄
She will be Chopping the Mop on Friday, May 31st, with the help of Steph Finney from Stephanie's Hairdressing.
