Story
Kat and Dave are running the APB Southampton 10K on Sunday 2 April 2023!
We’ll be running in the memory of our wonderful Dad, Nigel, and to raise money for the invaluable work of the Mountbatten Hospice in Southampton.
The team at Mountbatten showed immense kindness and compassion to Dad in his final weeks, as well as providing moral support to our family when we needed it most.
More people need Mountbatten’s help than ever - they currently support around 1,000 people daily and demand for their services is growing rapidly.
Your donation will protect patients and families by ensuring Mountbatten’s service continue and remain free for the local community.
Your donation will be used to fund:
- 24/7 round-the-clock care and support for people at home, wherever they live in Southampton and large parts of Hampshire.
- bereavement support for anyone affected by the death of a loved one.
- the 21-bed inpatient unit at the hospice building.
- specialist medical equipment and resources to help care for patients.
- rehabilitation and enablement services that help people with a life-limiting condition to live as well as they can for as long as possible.
- education and training programmes to support the local health and social care sector to ensure all people receive exceptional care as they reach the end of their lives wherever they are, in any setting.
