In celebrating our love for one another we wish to celebrate our love for our friends and family too. We wish that our wonderful aunt Ros Norton and her partner Anne Matthews could be here to celebrate our wedding.
Ros lived and breathed her work; she was fiercely passionate about social justice, equality, anti-racism and had a long and dedicated vocation working with young people. She was a truly special person who managed to connect with and inspire others, she had a magical ability to give people belief in themselves and was able to make everyone feel loved and welcome. She helped to create community and bring people together. She was colourful, intelligent, creative and loving. She loved music, art, food and loved walking in the countryside, she wasn't afraid to speak out against injustice and wasn't shy of a good debate!
In 2017 Ros sold her flat in London and put the money from the flat into buying the Braich Goch Inn, a 450 year old building on the edge of the Snowdownia National park. This historical building is now the home of the "Anne Matthews Trust" which is the legacy of Ros and the result of the hard work of amazing team who have grown this organisation from the roots up: "Our work focuses on people and families of refugee and migrant backgrounds living across the country. We work with groups to take action and bring about positive social change. We also cook, sing, dance, eat and make music, celebrating our differences and learning from each other."
